This morning, in the premises of the Ministry of Defense and respecting the anti-COVID measures, was paid homage to the untimely death of the Commander of the Support Command, Brigadier General Ndriçim Sallaku.
The President of the Republic Ilir Meta, the Minister of Defense Niko Peleshi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Europe Olta Xhaçka, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Prof. assoc. Bajram Begaj, US Ambassador Yuri Kim, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Murat Ahmet Yörük, former Minister of Defense Mimi Kodheli, military attachés accredited in our country, generals and force commanders, relatives of the deceased, friends and loved ones were present to pay their last respects to General Sallaku.
Despite all the health care, the Commander of the Support Command, Brigadier General Ndriçim Sallaku, has passed away due to a serious illness caused by COVID-19.
The Armed Forces (AAF) have lost with Brigadier General Sallaku, the brave military man, the prominent leader, the excellent professional and the dedicated man. The family lost a father, husband, grandfather, and their dear family member. We pray for them to find strength to face this difficult situation in their lives.
In the framework of the restructuring of the Land Force, the Albanian Chief of Defense, Major General assoc. prof. Bajram Begaj attended the staff line-up ceremony of the Combat Support Battalion.
