Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Assoc. Prof. Bajram Begaj welcomed in a special meeting two military expert teams of the New Jersey National Guard accompanied by the US attaché and representatives of the US cooperation Office in the field of Defense.
"The modernization of the Air Force with USA Black Hawk helicopters and the continuance of the work for the completion of Second Infantry Battalion with armored vehicles is a clear indicator of the strategic partnership between the two countries, as well as the assistance that the USA has given and continues to give to Albania. US assistance projects for the modernization Armed Forces are full capacity packages, which consist of equipment, their maintenance, and training of personnel use, using extended guarantees in the operation of the force.", - said among others the Chef of Defence.
In the framework of the Armed Forces restructuring, the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Assoc. Prof. Bajram Begaj, accompanied by the Commander of the Land Force, Brigadier General Arben Kingji, held a meeting this morning with the structures of the Land Force Command. The event was also attended by the Commanders of the Forces and the main units of the Armed Forces.
Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Assoc. Prof. Bajram Begaj participated in the Certificate Award Ceremony of 141 new recruits of the Individual Training Course at the Vocational Training Center for Soldiers, Bunavi, Vlora. The commander of the Armed Forces Academy, Brigadier General Albert Mullaj, and directors of directorates in the General Staff participated in the certification ceremony.
Chief of General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces, Major General Prof. Assoc. Bajram Begaj participated in the closing ceremony of the 5-Military Competition for 2021 on Armed Forces, which took place in the premises of "Skënderbej" Garrison in the Ministry of Defense.
In his greeting, Major General Prof. Assoc. Begaj after thanking the organizers for the excellent work, congratulated all participants for the spirit of collectivity and competition, features that characterize the Armed Forces for achieving the goals and objectives they set themselves in carrying out their tasks.
A historic and challenging journey which started in 1994 when Albania became a member of NATO's Partnership for Peace and crowned with full membership in the Alliance on April 1, 2009.
During these 12 years, Albania, undoubtedly helped by its status as a NATO member, has consolidated its role as a pillar of stability in the region, contributing to its missions in the service of world peace and security.
The United States of America has donated 29 Humvee to the Albanian Armed Forces which will be used by the Land Force Command to increase Albania's military readiness and its interaction with NATO.
The Minister of Defense Niko Peleshi, the US Ambassador to our country Yuri Kim, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Assoc Prof. Bajram Begaj, and the commander of the Land Force, Brigadier General Arben Kingji participated in this event.
