
In the premises of the Military Police Battalion in Rinas, was held the Table Tennis Championship of the Albanian Armed Forces for 2021, where eight teams took place, representing the main forces and autonomous units such as Land Force, Naval Force, Air Force, Support Command, Military Police, TRADOC, CISA, Armed Forces General Staff Support Battalion.
In this championship the teams were divided into two groups and the teams that made it in the first and second place were qualified in the finale. The finale of the championship was attended by the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Manushaqe Shehu, accompanied by the President of the Albanian National Olympic Committee, Mr. Fidel Ylli and the secretary of the Shooting Federation, Mrs. Eda Çaushi.
After thanking all those present at this sporting event, Major General Shehu said that these sporting activities are part of the normal activity of the Armed Forces, but also an organic component of professional military training. “I believe that it is significant that this activity comes after the largest exercise "Defender 21", which the Armed Forces successfully conducted in the framework of NATO, the football championship, successes in several regional military competitions and many other activities. The Exercise and other military activities reflected and demonstrated the professional skills of the military of the Armed Forces, including the appropriate physical condition, successfully coping with the intensity and duration of trainings, or other activities with high requirements of physical-military training… ", - said among others Major General Shehu during her greeting.
Major General Shehu addressed a special thanks to the President of the Albanian National Olympic Committee and the Secretary of the Shooting Federation, who with their presence in this sport activity of the Armed Forces show the best support, attention and encouragement to the Armed Forces in sports activities.
At the end of her greeting, the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Manushaqe Shehu, thanked all participants in this competition, commanders and leaders of their structures, as well as the organizers of this championship, for the seriousness and commitment shown by fulfilling successfully this activity. In particular, Major General Shehu congratulated all our athletes who will participate in the Olympic Games "Tokyo 2020", where the Armed Forces contribute with some of the award winners, such as Luiza Gega, Briken Calja and Indrit Çullhaj.
