The Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Begaj receives the Attaché of the Republic of Turkey, Colonel Kablay

Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General assoc. prof. Bajram Begaj, received the Defense Attaché of the Republic of Turkey accredited in our country, Colonel Muhammet Kelami Kablay.

During the meeting were praised the bilateral military cooperation on Defense and Security in the region and beyond in the framework of NATO missions and activities.

Furthermore, Major General Begaj expressed his gratitude to the Turkish Armed Forces for the long-term support of the Albanian military officers participating in "Resolute Support Mission” - Afghanistan and in particular, in providing strategic transport for Albanian troops and equipment during the deployment in Kabul, most recently actualized during the repatriation phase at the end of the mission in June 2021.

In conclusion, the two interlocutors shared the same viewpoint on strengthening cooperation in the field of military training and education, improving the logistical infrastructure and capacities to cope with civil emergencies, as well as joint engagements in operations and exercises within the Alliance.

The meeting with the Turkish Defense Attaché comes after a bilateral meeting between the Chiefs of General Staff of the two countries held during the annual Conference of Chiefs of Staff of the Balkan Countries (BCHOD), in June 2021.
