COVID-19, Armed Forces show maximum commitment

The Armed Forces structures continue to be on duty in the main districts of the country, in the humanitarian operation of distributing food packages for families in need as well as monitoring and patrolling with armored vehicles within the framework of the measures taken to stop COVID-19 spread.

 

Today, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku went in Lezha Island, to closely monitor the humanitarian operation and distribute aid to families in need, where he assured residents that they will not be alone and requested them to stay at home.

During the last 24 hours, Armed Forces structures continue their commitment:

Support Command structures with its forces and means of transportation, Regional Support, Engineers Forces, and DMR in Kukës, Burrel, Korça and Gjirokastra continue to be committed to prevent the spread of COVID-19. They are packing, transporting and distributing food aid to families in need. Today, the humanitarian operation has continued in the municipality of Lezha and Rrëshen, where a considerable amount of food aid has been sent. Also, DMR continue their engagement at the checkpoints along with the Military Police and State Police in the municipalities of Dibër, Mat, Klos, Bulqizë, Kukës, Korça and Gjirokastra.

 

The Land Force personnel continue to carry out their duties in the main districts of the country within the measures taken to prevent COVID-19 spread. First Battalion is attached to the State Police in Shkodra and Lezha, Second Battalion is in Tirana, Durrës and Vlora, Third Battalion is in Lushnje and Fier while the Commando Battalion is in Elbasan. They are serving day and night, in cooperation with the State Police, to control and stop the movement of citizens. The assignment proceeds with vehicles and people as directed by the General Staff. Meanwhile, the Combat Support Battalion continues to take precautions together with the Chemistry Company, which conducts daily disinfection of workplaces and vehicles returning from the duty.

Meanwhile, armored vehicles and patrol units of the Land Forces, Military Police, Naval Forces, Training and Doctrine Command, and Air Force have been deployed in the affected areas. They continue to be on the ground to support the State Police to discipline discipline all those citizens who do not respect the schedules and pose a risk to the health of other residents.
