Within the framework of the measures taken to stop COVID-19 spread, the Armed Forces structures continue to be on duty in the main districts of Albania. They are committed in the humanitarian operation, monitoring and patrolling with armored vehicles to distribute aids to families in need. At the State Reserve Warehouses, the Armed Forces continue to work intensively on preparing food packages for families in need and those affected by the earthquake.
The humanitarian operation to distribute food aid continued during these days in Shkodra Region (in Shoje, Grudë and Arra e Madhe) as well as in Durres District, Sukth, Kennet, Rashbull and Porto Romano. The Chief of General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, accompanied by the Director of Civil Emergencies, Haki Çako, were yesterday in Shkozet and Kënetë, where food aid was distributed to families in need.
Meanwhile, vehicles and patrol units of the Land Forces, Military Police, Naval Forces, Training and Doctrine Command, and Air Force have been deployed in the affected areas. They continue to be on the ground to support the State Police to discipline all those citizens who do not respect the schedules and pose a risk to the health of other residents. Land Force personnel continue to carry out their duties in the main districts of the country within the measures taken to prevent COVID-19 spread.
First Battalion is attached to the State Police in Shkodra and Lezha, Second Battalion is in Tirana, Durrës and Vlora, Third Battalion is in Lushnje and Fier while the Commando Battalion is in Elbasan. They are serving day and night, in cooperation with the State Police, to control and stop the movement of citizens. The assignment proceeds with vehicles and people as directed by the General Staff. Meanwhile, the Combat Support Battalion continues to take precautions together with the Chemistry Company, which conducts daily disinfection of workplaces and vehicles returning from the duty.
Also, Support Command units continue their commitment in Shkodra. They distributed food aid and about 210 sacks of flour to residents. Support Command structures have also continued the humanitarian operation in Sukth Administrative Unit, Borak village and Rashbull Administrative Unit, where a considerable amount of food parcels was distributed.
