In the occasion of 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of Nation, on the premises of the Centre of Culture, Media, Publications, Museum and Holiday Houses (CCMPMHH), an exhibition with well-known works of the Meritorious Painter and Grand Master, Fatmir Haxhiu, is opened. The exhibit hall in the Centre was given the name of this remarkable painter of our country. The ceremony was attended by Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, Minister of Culture, Mrs. Mirela Kumbaro, Meritorious Painter’s family, directors of departments in the Ministry of Defense and General Staff, guests and relatives of the painter.

The Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, received today in a courtesy meeting the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia in Tirana, Mr. Alexander Stipetic and the Defence Attaché of the Republic of Croatia, Colonel Ivica Matesic.
General Bazo praised the excellent relations of cooperation in Defence between the two countries, cooperation that has culminated with the establishment of the Adriatic Charter, which today is known as the A5.

The Senior Course on Security and Defence (SCSD) visited the General Staff of the Armed Forces as part of the program of studies. Participants were welcomed by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo.
The Director of Defence Planning and Monitoring, Colonel Nazmi Cahani presented the trainees with the mission and duties of the General Staff and the latest developments in the Armed Forces. In the session of questions - answers, trainees showed their interest of requiring more information on the role of the General Staff, at the strategic level, and its relationship with the structures of the Ministry of Defence, about the Armed Forces achievements in recent years, its commitments within NATO, as well as future plans to modernize its equipment and systems.

Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli visited “Mustafa Kemal Ataturk” High School, located in Zall-Herr, where she donated some different artistic books provided by the Land Force. These books will be added to the school’s library. This activity takes place, as a multiple range of culture activities, on the occasion of the celebrations of 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of Homeland and in the framework of cooperation between the Armed Forces and the community in deployment areas of commands and units of Armed Forces.
Minister Kodheli was welcomed by the Director of Education Department of Kamza, Ms. Emirioni Cekani and director of the High School “Mustafa Kemal Ataturk”, Mr. Xhemal Lozi. Mr. Lozi thanked Minister Kodheli for visiting this school and donating books as an added value to their library, and econfirmed the excellent cooperation between the Armed Forces and local residents, a cooperation which will continue in the future.

Today in the morning, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, received in a special meeting the team of athletes who participated in the sports activity, “NATO Run 2014”, which took place on October 5th, 2014 in Budapest, Hungary. General Bazo thanked the participants of the team for their performance, the spirit of competition and awarded them with certificates of gratitude.
The Albanian Armed Forces (AAF) was represented by the head of the team, Captain Gerant Qirici; the athletes, Captain Bledar Mesi and PV2 Luiza Gega. In the 10 km race event with 3,800 participants (2,800 male and 1,000 female athletes, military personnel and civilians), PV2 Luiza Gega was ranked in the first place for women (she was awarded the cup), being declared the best athlete of the activity, while Bledar Mesi ranked eighth among men.

Based on the cooperation program with the Republic of Turkey, there arrived for a port visit in our country the Turkish Navy submarine “TCG Sakarya”. The purpose of this visit is to get acquainted with the Albanian Naval Force’s developments and strengthening of cooperation between our two countries, as NATO partner countries.
At noon, the Turkish submarine was visited by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, Deputy Minister of Defence, Mr. Dritan Hila, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in our country, Mr. Hidayet Bayraktar, Naval Force Commander, Brigadier General Qemal Shkurti, Captain of the Port of Durrës, Mr. Admir Sulaj, etc.
