The ceremony on the arrival of the new helicopter, Cougar AS532 AL, was conducted this morning, at the Farka Air Base, based on the technical agreement signed among the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Albania and the French company “Eurocopter” “On the supply with five helicopters AS532 AL Cougar and accompanying equipment”.
At the ceremony held on this occasion attended the Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, Ambassador of France in Albania, Mr. Bernard Fitoussi, Force commanders, defence attachés to our country, and representatives of the French company “Eurocopter”.

In the premises of the “Skënderbej” garrison, in the framework of 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of Homeland, the Armed Forces structures held sports activities (men’s football and women’s volleyball), on 04-07 November 2014.
The football trophy was won by the Military Police team, in second place was ranked the Support Command team, and in the third place was ranked the Land Force team.

One of the recommendations of the Strategic Defence Review document was the creation of combat support capabilities. This recommendation and the approach based on standards and concepts that are in line with those of the Atlantic Alliance (NATO) resulted in the creation of the new Land Force unit, the Combat Support Battalion.
In a modest, but very significant, ceremony, in which participated the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, General Jeronim Bazo, this unit marked the formation and its organic alignment in Babrru, Tirana.
