Within the framework of the declaration of the civilian emergency on the environmental situation by the inter-ministerial commission, Ministry of Defence and the General Staff are engaged today with 1,100 troops and 100 vehicles for the functioning of the territory cleaning.
Even during the fourth phase of this operation, effectives of the Armed Forces are visited by Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli and Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo.
Effectives of the Armed Forces are engaged in national roada, mainly in Fier-Kakavija-Gjirokastra, cleaning the waste. Minister Kodheli and General Bazo stopped at the border crossing point in Kakavija, where troops and vehicles were engaged in cleaning of the territory.
The main axes in which the structures of the Armed Forces have made today the cleaning of the territory were: Exit of Fier (rail tracks)-Levan-Levan turn, Ballsh (new road), turn Ballsh-Kras, Tepelenë, Kras-Tepelenë- Ali Pasha Restaurant, Restaurant-Memaliaj Ali Pasha, Memaliaj-Tepelenë, Tepelenë-Uji i Ftohtë, Uji i Ftohtë-Kardhiqi Bridge, Bridge-Kardhiqi, Entry of Gjirokastra, Gjirokastra-Derviçan, Derviçan-Terihat, Terihat-Jergucat turn, turn Jergucat-border checkpoint Kakavija, making possible the cleaning of 127 km of roads and transportation by the army vehicles of waste taken out from their dumps.
