The joint exercise "Albanian Lion 2013" will be held n the period from 11 August to 13 September 2013 in the framework of cooperation in the field of defense between our country and the UK. About 3000 British troops will take part in this multi scenario exercise, mostly commandos and naval forces, as well as an effective of 35 people from the Dutch Armed Forces, which operate alongside British troops.
The joint exercise "Albanian Lion 2013" will include in itself three smaller drills, each with a specific scenario. During the one month stay in our country, the British troops will perform military actions at sea and on land in evacuation operations, marine landing, shooting, etc.
The theatre of the joint Albanian-British training "Albanian Lion 2013" covers a wide geographical area ranging from the training area of Biza, to Pashaliman, Kuçove, Karaburun and Sazan. The Armed forces will engage in exercises with troops and vehicles of the Naval Forces, as well as with the Ground Force troops in the realization of common scenarios.
In order to reflect this great exercise, the Embassy of Great Britain in our country, the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Armed Forces will notify continuously about the opportunities that the national and local media will have to attend the training, and it has been agreed in advance to organize the Distinguished Visitors' Day (DVD) of the training, on September 2, 2013 in Vlora Bay region, with the participation of dignitaries of the British Embassy, the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Armed Forces, as well as from the local government.
