The Armed Forces are engaged again to extinguish fires that have recently started in some areas of the country. The General Directorate of Civil Emergencies has asked this morning the Operational United Center of the MOD to send troops to extinguish two new fires in Vajgurore Bridge and Puka.
By order of the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Xhemal Gjunkshi 170 troops and 9 military vehicles are currently engaged in these two regions. More specifically, 120 Infantry Battalion forces in Poshnje of Berati and 50 Infantry Battalion forces of Vau Dejes Shkodra are working intensively in order to extinguish the fires that started as a result of the high temperatures that accompany the summer season.
