
Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces , Major General Xhemal Gjunkshi during his official visit to Macedonia held a special meeting with the Chief of Staff of the Macedonian Armed Forces, Major General Gorancho Koteski. General Gjunkshi after expressing his gratitude for the warm and friendly reception, highly estimated the current level of cooperation between the Armed Forces of the two countries in important areas such as training, education, regional initiatives, etc. The two top executives expressed their conviction to strengthen this cooperation, with the aim of intensifying the excellent relations, not only between the Armed Forces, but also between the two countries.
Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Xhemal Gjunkshi received in a special meeting the Polish military attache in our country, Colonel Jarmuzek Rafal, on completion of the task. General Gjunkshi praised the contribution of colonel Jarmuzek in strengthening the defense cooperation between the two countries, as well as support of the Polish Armed Forces to the Albanian Armed Forces.
Colonel Jarmuzek thanked Major General Xhemal Gjunkshi for the given support in performing his duty as a military attaché in Albania.

Today’s afternoon, at the premises of the Air Force Command, in Rinas, took place the opening ceremony of the joint exercise between the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom and the Albanian Armed Forces codenamed “Albanian Lion-13”. The ceremony was held in the framework of bilateral cooperation between the Albanian Armed Forces and the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom. The British Air Force troops were welcomed at the Rinas airport by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Xhemal Gjunkshi, British Ambassador of Great Britain in Tirana, Mr. Nicholas Cannon, Air Force commander, Brigadier General Frederik Beltoja, Deputy Ambassador of Great Britain, Mr. Stephen Hickling, by the Consul, Mr. Kabir Rahman, deputy commander of the 3rd Brigade, Royal Marines Commando, Colonel Kevin Oliver, generals and other senior officers of the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces.

Today around 00:25 returned home "Eagle 6" contingents and "Medical Team of Armed Forces", a total of 59 people. “Eagle 6” Contingent, effective of Special Forces Battalion, subordinate structure of the Land Forces, was composed of 49 militaries, out of whom 12 officers, 36 NCOs and one private, on mission in Kandahar, Afghanistan. The Medical Team of Armed Forces consisted of 10 persons, doctors and nurses, on mission in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Today at noon, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, Major General Xhemal Gjunkshi, hosted in an official meeting, the UK Deputy Ambassador accredited in Tirana, Mr. Stephen Hickling, who was accompanied by the British Military Attaché in our country.
The meeting was held in the framework of bilateral cooperation between the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania and the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom, focusing particularly in the context of the Albanian-British joint training "ALBANIAN LION 2013", which is being hold in our country from 11 August-13 September 2013. In this exercise about 3000 (three thousand) British troops will take part, mainly "Commando" and "Navy Forces", as well as a group of 35 troops from the Dutch Armed Forces, which operate together with British troops.

Today at noon, the chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Xhemal Gjunkshi received the Ambassador and Deputy Ambassador of Great Britain in our country. The purpose of this visit is to strengthen the cooperation in the field of defense between our country and the UK, as well as the organizational measures of the joint exercise "Albanian Lion 13", which will run from 11 August to 13 September 2013."
British troops will take part in this multi scenario exercise, mostly commandos and naval forces, as well as an effective of 35 people from the Dutch Armed Forces, which operate alongside British troops.
