The holidays came in a very special way for the peacekeepers serving in Afghanistan. The Prime Minister Mr. Edi Rama, the Minister of Defense, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, family members, superiors and colleagues, communicated this morning with the AF effectives who are serving within the ISAF framework. The video conference brought all together for about 30 minutes, to convey Christmas and New Year wishes and to greet each other.
The Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo conveyed to the peacekeepers the best wishes in this end of year and expressed the utmost appreciations for their contribution in the name of peace and security, alongside countries of the Euro-Atlantic Alliance in Afghanistan. "Our profession is difficult; it requires dedication and sacrifice, because we have to be away from our family often. We are gathered here today, all together, to wish you to successfully perform the task and have a safe journey back home”, addressed the personnel of the Armed Forces in Kabul and Kandahar General Bazo.
A special message in this end of year was conveyed to the peacekeepers by the Minister of Defense, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli whom after praising the work and the results achieved, heartily wished them health, success and prosperity for their families.
The Prime Minister, Mr. Edi Rama addressed the peacekeepers among special emotions. He wished them a successful mission and a safe journey back in Homeland. "I am convinced that you are working closely with our allies to successfully carry out the assigned mission and you will enrich even more the valuable experience of our Armed Forces in peacekeeping missions”, stressed among others Prime Minister Rama.
The national military representative in Kabul, Lieutenant Colonel Ardian Beqaj, the commander of the "MAT", Lieutenant Colonel Leonard Zhupa, and the commander of the mission "Eagle", Major Pali Dakolli also conveyed their greeting during the teleconference. They assured the Prime Minister Rama and the top executives of the Ministry of Defense and General Staff that they will know how to fulfill with honor the mission assigned to them, always glorifying our national flag.
The Prime Minister, Mr. Edi Rama, the Minister of Defense, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo at the end of the conversation with the peacekeepers distributed gifts to their children, and exchanged greetings for the holidays with their family members.
