The Navy celebrates the 61st Anniversary of the foundation of the Submarine Brigade

The ceremony organized on this occasion was attended by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, the Deputy Commander of the Naval Force, directors of directorate at General Staff, the Prefect of Durrës District, former commanders, veterans and former navigators who served for years in submarines as well as Naval Force officers.

Brigadier General Kollçaku addressing the ceremony: "It is my honor and pleasure to be among you on the occasion of the 61st Anniversary of the Submarine Brigade, to greet, respect and express gratitude to all former officers and the commanders of the Submarine Brigade, who with dedication, sweat and sacrifice, had become proud the Armed Forces for more than 40 years committing one of the most difficult tasks of country defense.”

Further in his speech, Brigadier General Kollçaku brought to attention distinguished military men who served in the submarine arm.


The New Academic Year, Xhaçka announced the good news: AFA will be accredited as a higher education institution

The Council of Ministers is expected to approve soon the special status for the Armed Forces Academy, paving the way for a radical change in the military education system in our country.

It enables not only the opening of first bachelor studies but also full accreditation of AFA and academic programs.

Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka, shared the news with students and professors of the Armed Forces Academy at the beginning of the New Academic Year 2019 - 2020, where the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Besa Shahini was also invited.


Brigadier General Kollçaku takes part in the Distinguished Visitors Day of the multinational training "Albanian Effort - 19"

In the training area of Biza, took part the Distinguished Visitors Day of the Multinational Training encoded "Albanian Effort - 19". The ceremony was attended by the Defense Deputy Minister Mr. Petro Koçi, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, generals invited from participating countries, commanders of forces, military attachés of NATO countries accredited in our country, etc.

In his greeting to the troops participating in the exercise, Brigadier General Kollçaku said among other things: "We are here, in this DVD - day, of the "Albanian Effort-19" training, attended by 12 NATO Allied and Partner Countries. We planned it as a local - national training and now we're here, we have a multinational battalion. The purpose of this exercise was to improve the knowledge, understanding and capability of Armed Forces structures, international leaders and partners, in planning and executing the full spectrum NA5CRO as part of a joint NATO Task Force (CJTF) with a focus at the tactical level. Undoubtedly the goal was successfully achieved and all the objectives were fulfilled.”- said Brigadier General Kollçaku.


The Military Police activity in support of Commands, was attended by CHoD Brig. Gen. Kollçaku

In the premises of the Ministry of Defense auditorium was held the Military Police workshop related supporting the Commands. 

The workshop were attended by Chief of the General Staff of the AAF, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, Commanders of Forces and Autonomous Units, Commander of Military Police Col. Altin Kurti, as well as military and civilian personnel of the intelligence structures, lawyers and commanders’ advisers of the AAF.



Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces attended the 13th Balkan Countries CHOD’s Forum

Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku attended the 13th Balkan Countries Chiefs of Staff Forum.

In addition to the participation of delegations from 9 Balkan countries, among the special guests invited in this meeting was also the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Air Marshal Sir Stuart Peach, the Deputy Commander of the Allied Joint Force Command Naples, the UN military adviser for peacekeeping operations as well as a representative from the European Union. 

The purpose of the meeting was to further develop regional military cooperation, enhance security and stability in the Balkans, identify and develop a regional crisis management mechanism, as well as enhance interoperability among the Armed Forces of the regional countries through joint training commitments and missions. 


Chief of the General Staff of the AF, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku paid an official visit in Greece

At the invitation of the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) , Chief of the General Staff of the Albania Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku paid an official visit to Greece on 30 August 2019.

Initially, he was received in a meeting by his Greek counterpart. They discussed about the security environment in the respective countries, the Balkans and beyond, about bilateral military cooperation and the prospect of enhancing and strengthening this cooperation.
