Armed Forces serving the citizens

The Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, at the earliest moments of receiving notification of the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the territory of the Republic of Albania, took immediate measures to make its capacity available to the civil authorities in support of the Albanian citizens.

At the request of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and in accordance with the normative act of the Council of Ministers, the Armed Forces have been following joint patrol duties with the State Police, for more than 10 days, to enforce the restricted movement of traffic on the main streets of Tirana, Durres and other cities.


AFF shows maximal commitment in support of families in need

For the last few days, the Regional Support Battalion, the Engineer Battalion and the Support Command Battalion have been engaged in State Reserve warehouses for the preparation of food packages for needy families and pensioners to cope with the situation created by COVID-19.

The packages that were prepared in the State Reserves were taken by the local government, which in close cooperation with the Support Command and Civil Emergencies as well as with "Fundjavë Ndryshe" began distributing them mainly to earthquake-affected families, families in need and pensioners.


Armed Forces mobilized against COVID-19

Starting at the early hours, the Armed Forces have been engaged with the support of the State Police in the main regions of the country (Tirana, Durres, Shkodra, Lezha, Elbasan, Berat, Lushnje, Fier and Vlora) coping with the situation created by COVID-19,  controlling the citizens returning from virus affected countries, but above all, raising the citizens’ awareness, especially of those who have traveled to the most affected countries, to ensure compliance with the measures to prevent the spread of COVID -19.

As a result, the Land Force and Military Police personnel equipped with protecting and depolluting equipment, have joined the State Police, assisting once again as a single unit.


The Armed Forces conducts the "Military Five Races" sports event for 2020

A closing ceremony of the "Military Five Races" sports event was held at the Zall-Herr Garrison.

The Land Force took the first place in this sporting activity, followed by the Doctrine and Training Command which took the second place and the Military Police the third place.




Training "Women in the Army" with the New Jersey National Guard Team

As part of the partnership with the AAF as well as the follow-up to the  Gender Equality Activity in 2019, a New Jersey National Guard team led by Colonel Yvonne Mays, Air Force Chief of Staff, on March 03 - 06 paid an official visit to Albania.

On the first day of the visit, the team toured on the premises of the Land Force, Air Force and, Doctrine and Training Command where they met with leaders, women and, girls of these structures as well as familiarized with the environment they work.



Brigadier General Kollçaku official visit to KFOR

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, paid an official visit to KFOR, Pristina, where he was received by KFOR Commander Major General Michele Risi. The visit was held in the framework of discussions on key security issues in the region, but also on the progress and continued support to our country for NATO operations in Kosovo (KFOR).
