Brigadier General Kollçaku hands over the flag to the team participating in the "2019 World Military Olympics”

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku handed over the flag to the Armed Forces military team that will represent the Armed Forces at the "World Military Olympic Games 2019" to be held in Wuhan, China on 14 - 28 October 2019.

The flag was handed to the athlete Lance Corporal Luiza Gega, finalist of the World Athletics Games held last month in Doha, Qatar, where with time of 09'19 in the 3000 m obstacle race, broke the national record and qualified for the 2020 Olympics.

200 military personnel part of the Armed Forces took part in "Tirana Marathon”

200 military personnel from the Albanian Armed Forces took part on the largest sporting event organized by Tirana Municipality, "Tirana Marathon", 8 of which competed in the 21km race and the others in the 10km race. 

Along with the Albanian Armed Forces team, 5 military personnel from Kosovo participated, two of whom will compete in the 21 km and three in 10 km races.

EU delivers humanitarian aids after earthquake

A special ceremony was organized in the premises of the Department of State Material Reserves for the delivery of aid from 14 EU member states and two non-member countries, which were immediately solidarized to assist the families of the affected by the earthquake of 21 September 2019.

The ceremony was attended by the Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, the Head of the Delegation of the European Union Luigi Soreca, Ambassadors of the contributing countries and heads of the General Directorate of State Material Reserves.

Brigadier General Kollçaku inspected "Limani-19" exercise

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku inspected today "Limani-19" exercise, which took place at Pashaliman Naval Flotilla, Vlorë.  

Military from the headquarters and platoon of the Second Operating Company of the Military Police and a Marine Corps group participated in this compact exercise.

A special ceremony of the replacement British military attaches took place at MoD

A special ceremony was held today at the Ministry of Defense on the occasion of the replacement of the United Kingdom Military Attache for our country, Lieutenant Colonel Edward Melotte and taking the office from Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Maycock.

The ceremony organized on the occasion was attended by the Minister of Defense Olta Xhaçka, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, the British Ambassador to our country, Mr. Duncan Norman, representatives of the English Embassy, as well as Heads of Directorates in the MoD and GS.

Balkan Bridge 2019 is under way

The Balkan Bridge Exercise (BB19) is under way in Sofia, Bulgaria, with the participation of Albania, Turkey, Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Joint Force Command of the Bulgarian Armed Forces (FAB), NATO Bydgoszcz Training Command, Poland (JFTC) as well as other NGO actors. 

This exercise is one of the main projects undertaken in the framework of the "Balkan Chiefs of Staff Initiative". BB19 is a continuation of the previous exercises "SEESIM", "Energy Flame 11", "Phoenix 10" it is a multinational, two-stage, simulated exercise.
