COVID-19, AF continue with the humanitarian operation

AAF have continued with the humanitarian operation distributing food aid throughout the last week, for the families in need and those affected by the earthquake.

Along the week, the engagement of the AAF has been intensified, as many of them have been extending the humanitarian operation almost into all regions of the country and mostly in the regions of southern Albania, starting from the Durrës, Gjirokastra, Korça, Berat, Fier and Vlora.


COVID - 19, AF proceeds with the humanitarian operation

The structures of the Armed Forces continue the humanitarian operations and food packages distribution to the families in need in order to cope with the situation created by COVID - 19.

Throughout the last week, the humanitarian operation for the distribution of food aid has continued respectively in the Region of Kukes, Has, Tropoja, Dibra region, in the Municipalities of Dibra, Mat, Klos, Bulqizė, and Bishop, in Elbasan district, in Librazhd Municipalities, Gramsh, Peqin, Përrenjas, Cërrik, Belsh as well as in all Municipalities of Tirana.

The distribution of food aid prepared in the State Reserves was closely followed by the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Manushaqe Shehu, accompanied by the Commander of the Support Command, Brigadier General Ndriçim Sallaku, Commander of the Land Force, Brigadier General Albert Mullai, General Director of the Civil Defense National Agency, Mr. Haki Cako, as well as senior local government representatives.


One year since the tragedy in Latvia, Xhaçka: We owe a debt of gratitude to our martyrs

The Armed Forces honored two fallen effectives a year ago in Latvia, Major Klodian Tanushi and Corporal Zerife Hasanaj. In a special ceremony organized by the Company of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), attended by the Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka and the Chief of General Staff of the AF, Bardhyl Kollçaku, who laid wreaths at the memorial dedicated to the martyrs of the homeland in this company.

"We lost two of our best effectives. The AF lost two of its members. Two effectives who had their bright career ahead of them, as they had shown their potential in every training and every dislocation .", - said the Defence Minister during her speech.


Online classes takes place at the Armed Forces Academy

Based on MASR guidelines for online learning development, ensuring continuity and non-undertaking of the implementation of the program and academic curricula, online learning is taking place at AFA.





69 years of Albanian Military Aviation

On this occasion, the Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka congratulated the staff of this Branch, expressing respect and gratitude for their work and dedication. "Gratitude to thousands of effectives, who over the years have flown with the mission of Defence and Security of the territory of Albania as well as that of assisting the community in difficulty. Very soon, our Air Force will be modernized with Black Hawk helicopters and meanwhile other projects are in the process.", - said Minister Xhaçka in her greeting on the 69th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Albanian Military Aviation.


COVID-19, Albania Armed Forces continue the patrol-monitoring operation

The Armed Forces since the first moments of receiving the notification for the spread of COVID-19 virus in the territory of Albania, took immediate, in order to place at the disposal of the civil authorities the necessary support in the interest of Albanian citizens.Over the course of five weeks, 24,720 members of the Armed Forces and 3,187 vehicles, an daily average of 850 effectives and 100 vehicles, continue their joint patrol duties with the State Police to implement the restricted movement ban throughout the country, at the request of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Public Order and in support of the normative act of the Council of Ministers.
