NATO Support and Procurement Agency inspects Kuçova Air Base

 

The NATO Investment Plan at Kuçova Air Base has entered the final phase before the start of the procurement procedures which will be followed by work on the premises.

For this reason, NATO's Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) General Manager, Peter Dohmen, accompanied by the Director of Operations Support at this agency, Orhan Muratli payed a visit to our country.

Senior NATO officials were hosted by Deputy Minister of Defence Petro Koçi, Chief of General Staff of AF, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku and General Director of Defense Policy Florian Kali.

The interlocutors talked about modernizing Kuçova Air Base and appreciated the importance of NATO's investment for the security of the country and the region.

NSPA leaders also held a meeting with the working group of the Ministry of Defense and General Staff following the work on the NATO project to modernize Kuçova Air Base.

Currently, work was focused on designing the "Establishment Plan" as well as the cost of mini-projects deriving from NATO's capacity package. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense is expected to sign a technical agreement with NSPA for submitting NATO-supported projects for the period 2019-2022.

During his stay in our country, NATO's General Manager for Support and Procurement and Operations Support Director Orhan Muratli also paid a familiarizing visit to Kuçova Air Base, where they were acquainted with base history, capacity, infrastructure and its current state.
