
From Farka Air Base, Prime Minister Edi Rama and Defence Minister Niko Peleshi expressed their gratitude to all members of the Armed Forces, fire brigade, police and municipal forces, also volunteers, forest service forces and those for protected areas, who were engaged in extinguishing fires throughout the country, during August.
Prime Minister Rama thanked US and EU partners, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic for contributing to the normalization of the situation through the Civil Protection Mechanism, in the activity, attended by the ChoD Major General Assoc. Prof. Bajram Begaj, National Civil Protection Agency Director Haki Çako; European Union Ambassador Luigi Soreca and US Deputy Ambassador Demian Smith.
In the framework of the cooperation with the New Jersey National Guard (NJNG) senior NCO team in the premises of the Faculty of Defense and Security of the Armed Forces Academy, from August 30 to September 3, there was conducted the activity “Review of Doctrine for Non-Commissioned Officers Corps in the Armed Forces”.
ChoD Major General Assoc. Prof. Bajram Begaj has awarded the "Certificate of Appreciation" to the Dutch military personnel, who within the European Civil Protection Mechanism, participated in the air operation to extinguish wildfires in our country, with the motivation: "Your professionalism, cooperation, and sacrifice to support the Albanian Armed Forces during firefighting operations in Albania.
The first contingent of Afghan refugees evacuated from Afghanistan consisting of 131 people, including women and children, arrived in Rinas, at “Mother Teresa" Airport early this morning.
The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Olta Xhaçka, ChoD Major General Assoc. Prof. Bajram Begaj, the US Ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, and the Land Force Commander, Brigadier General Arben Kingji, closely followed the procedures to welcome them to Albania.
