EU delivers humanitarian aids after earthquake

A special ceremony was organized in the premises of the Department of State Material Reserves for the delivery of aid from 14 EU member states and two non-member countries, which were immediately solidarized to assist the families of the affected by the earthquake of 21 September 2019.

The ceremony was attended by the Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, the Head of the Delegation of the European Union Luigi Soreca, Ambassadors of the contributing countries and heads of the General Directorate of State Material Reserves.

Brigadier General Kollçaku inspected "Limani-19" exercise

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku inspected today "Limani-19" exercise, which took place at Pashaliman Naval Flotilla, Vlorë.  

Military from the headquarters and platoon of the Second Operating Company of the Military Police and a Marine Corps group participated in this compact exercise.

A special ceremony of the replacement British military attaches took place at MoD

A special ceremony was held today at the Ministry of Defense on the occasion of the replacement of the United Kingdom Military Attache for our country, Lieutenant Colonel Edward Melotte and taking the office from Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Maycock.

The ceremony organized on the occasion was attended by the Minister of Defense Olta Xhaçka, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, the British Ambassador to our country, Mr. Duncan Norman, representatives of the English Embassy, as well as Heads of Directorates in the MoD and GS.

Balkan Bridge 2019 is under way

The Balkan Bridge Exercise (BB19) is under way in Sofia, Bulgaria, with the participation of Albania, Turkey, Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Joint Force Command of the Bulgarian Armed Forces (FAB), NATO Bydgoszcz Training Command, Poland (JFTC) as well as other NGO actors. 

This exercise is one of the main projects undertaken in the framework of the "Balkan Chiefs of Staff Initiative". BB19 is a continuation of the previous exercises "SEESIM", "Energy Flame 11", "Phoenix 10" it is a multinational, two-stage, simulated exercise.

Celebration of 5th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Combat Support Battalion in the Land Force

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, accompanied by Brigadier General Albert Mullai, participated in the celebration of the 5th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Land Forces Combat Support Battalion.

In his greeting, Brigadier General Kollçaku said he was honored to attend this important day, that held a significant meaning not only for the Combat Support Battalion officers, but for all of the Armed Forces.

Albania hosts the 23rd U.S. - Adriatic Charter CHODs Conference

On September 25th, 2019, in Durrës was held the 23rd Conference of the Chiefs of Staff (CHODs) of the US Initiative - Adriatic Charter (A-5).

The A5 Conference is the most important activity that the Armed Forces evolve as part of this initiative. It involves organizing and carrying out a range of regional and NATO framework activities

The organization of this conference was preceded by a number of other activities, including the third working group meeting (IWG) as well as the meeting of GSC NCOs (CSEL).

The third meeting of the working group (IWG) was co-chaired by Colonel Bilbil Bitri, Director of the Directorate of Defense Planning and Monitoring, and LTC Colonel Aimee J. Murray, US EUCOM Representative.
